Expecting another baby!

We are super excited to make it public that we are expecting and anticipating another little Willis to arrive! Due date of November 4. We feel incredibly blessed to be given this opportunity.
Baby Willis at 8.5 weeks, taken several weeks ago.
I'm currently a little over 11 weeks and we've just heard the heartbeat again.

I don't take getting pregnant or having children lightly. For some, it comes easily and unexpected, and sadly, maybe even unwanted. For others, I know the journey is long, frustrating, painful, full of desire, involves wrestling with God, and seemingly impossible by human standards.

While we haven't struggled with the deep issues of infertility, I know many others have. It did take us a little longer this time around to get pregnant, and then we ended up losing that pregnancy. Our very first pregnancy also resulted in a miscarriage. Those 2 losses have given me a more sympathetic heart for those that have steeper struggles. Knowing that every pregnancy announcement and new birth that they hear of brings a reminder that they aren't there yet. Just days after my first pregnancy loss, I remember getting my first letter from a prison pen pal that I had signed up for. Of course she would share with me that she was 8 months pregnant! Nothing like a little salt in a fresh wound. It hurts, even if you don't want it to. You know the right attitude is to be happy for the blessing in another's life. And you genuinely want to be happy for them. But sometime it's easier said than done.

So, while we are truly excited and are expectant for another little blessing in the form of a child, we also write this with a sense of compassion for those that we know that are struggling. A few we might be aware of and I'm sure there are others that we have no idea of their heavy hearts. We all have different journeys and struggles. God is sovereign. He does not make mistakes. He is in control. And He loves us.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
