Trunk or Treat - ARRRRGH!

Our church had their Trunk-or-Treat/Family Fun event last night. Went through 700 and some hot dogs! Had lots of people pass through. This proves to be a great event to interact with our community and to see lots of faces that we don't know otherwise! And it takes a lot of people to pull it off! It always just reminds me of how the body of Christ is supposed to operate. We're all needed to do our jobs!

I got our trunk ready for the show. I had gotten pirate costumes for the boys last spring for super cheap. I bought some plastic tablecloths at the dollar store to paint for the flags and the ship on the side of the van. I made a treasure chest out of an old box. Adam's sister had spoiled us with some pirate accessories when she was here last knowing that we were to be pirates for halloween. Gathered up some "treasure" and jewels. I'll admit I did spend $10 on our parrot.

I've come to believe that having the best trunk is mostly about having a couple of cute kids who have coordinating outfits. Teach them to say "Arrrgh" and "Shiver me timbers!" while they give you menacing looks with their plastic swords - and there you have "BEST TRUNK"! Adam was a pirate also, but he worked the registration area the whole time. Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture taken with all of us together. :( You'll just have to imagine what it would have looked like.
