We've started our garden!
We are attempting quite a few more things from seeds this year: Green Beans, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Cucumbers, Spinach, Cilantro, and Parsley. I went a little nuts-o and planted more seeds than what we will need - in case some don't succeed. (Pretty sure one container of Spinach is doomed after Tate drowned it) (So....if they do well, and you'd like some starter plants in a month, I may have some for you as I do not have the garden space for everything I've started from seed!) I still plan to have some things in the garden, like tomatoes, that I'll buy as plants
And here are the Strawberry plants coming up. They had quite a few spreaders (don't know the official name), so I transplanted quite a few of them to help spread them out).
And here's my rhubarb plant that we transplanted from my parent's last year.
And if you look very carefully in this mess, you can see a branch sticking out of the ground with a white piece of tape on it. The tape says "Blackberry." I planted a couple of these on the back edge of one of our landscape beds. It's supposed to be 1-2 years before we would see any sort of fruit - if they succeed. We shall see.
I'm a country girl at heart and LOVE growing food! I'd have a cow and chickens in our backyard if I could. ;) Although, I would MUCH rather have close neighbors, sidewalks, and easy access to shopping. Not ready to trade those yet.
