This past week, we had one of my hometown friends and her husband and kids stay with us for a couple of days. I've known Rachel since 7th grade. Oh, I smile just thinking of the memories I've had with her over the years. We were in each other's weddings and have managed to stay in touch over the years. Always wishing we lived closer. It feels good to spend time with a friend who knows me. Someone that knew me before I was married. Someone that knows about my family. Someone who saw me do stupid things when I was younger. Someone who did stupid things with me. Someone with whom I can be totally honest with. Someone that I don't have to impress or prove anything to. Someone whom I know values the friendship just as much as I do. Even though we are now juggling our kids and have our "dream" husbands by our sides, it's still so good to know that our friendship is important enough to preserve. I'm so thankful that God has blessed me with her friendship.
We had a good couple of days with them. We did some shopping, spent time at the house swimming, and even made a trip to the beach. Unfortunately, we didn't snap any pictures of the two of us together. But here's some shots of our kiddos.
