I gave my hand at canning peaches for the first time. It was sticky. But such a yummy and fun process! I
might have snitched several peaches worth while working. It took me a little over 3 hours to do a 1/2 bushel. I also found a recipe for making peach jelly from the discarded skins and pits. I saved those and made that a couple days later when I had the chance. It seems to have gelled up nicely and is super tasty. Too bad I like having neighbors closeby, otherwise I think I would love to live in the country and have room for a large garden, fruit trees, a handful of chickens (or shickens, as Tate would say), and hang my clothes out on a clothesline in the summer. In the meantime, I will hang our freshly laundered bed linens on the pool fence to dry.
