Winter and Spring Sports

Sports leagues. Dividing and conquering the schedules. And we don't even attempt to do travel leagues, just our local rec leagues. These guys need ways to get out there energy in constructive ways. SOOO much energy somedays.

In the winter, Landon played indoor soccer. This was the first time he had done it. He....loved it. A much faster paced game than outdoor soccer. He got the hang of it pretty quickly and liked having walls to kick it off of.

Tate and Heath played in an Upwards Basketball league. Not sure they have lived in Indiana long enough to truly tap into their basketball abilities. But they had fun and ran around and improved their games as the season went on.

Landon played soccer in the spring. Its pretty much all he wants to play. He had a good season. Their team didn't have the best record, but they ended up winning an intense double-overtime, shoot-out championship game.

Tate played baseball. Moved up to kid pitch.  He was pretty nervous about that. He hit quite a bit last year with machine pitch.....kid pitches are a little less predictable. He managed to walk a handful of times. Hit a few foul balls (one that hit a vehicle - which he thought was awesome). Had a few super close calls of getting thrown out at first. And finally in the next to last game, he had a solid hit that went into the outfield. Thankfully, he didn't get too down about his struggles to hit. Remember, even the pros don't get base hits most of the time. He moved around a bit in the outfield and infield. He'll get to play this same level again next year. His team had the best record in the league, but they lost in the championship game.

Heath also played baseball at the coach pitch level. He had some really solid hits....even to the outfield! And unfortuntely, I didn't take a single picture of him this season! Try to picture it....He wore a black jersey with white lettering. And looks super cute in a baseball hat.

Oh, I did find a picture. This is Landon and Heath sunning themselves on the living room floor like cats before we left for games on a Saturday morning.
